Volunteers serving in the school will support and model the moral teachings of the Catholic Church and function faithfully within the mission and structures of the school, parish, and Diocese with proper respect for those serving in ministries.
Parent Volunteers work in a collaborative role with others ministering to the development of the children and the school as an educational institution. Volunteers are asked to treat all school related matters confidentially and respect the dignity of those with whom they work and come into contact.
Volunteer Hours Each St. Paul School Family is expected to participate in the life of the school. Each family is required to contribute a minimum of thirty (30) Parent Participation Hours (PPH) to the school. Families receiving school tuition subsidies are required to contribute additional PPH. Each family’s participation fosters a closer community and helps our school thrive.
The Office will account for the family’s PPH three times a year, to coincide with ending of each trimester, and will provide each family with a report of these hours.
See Family Student Handbook for more details (a link can be found on our homepage).
SAFE ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Parents, for our children's safety, you must complete the online Safe Environment Certificate Training prior to chaperoning any field trips, or volunteering for yard duty, etc. At the conclusion of the online training, the office will be notified. Should you encounter any problems or have questions please contact the school for assistance at (510) 233-3080.
In addition, all volunteers must submit to a
LifeScan background check. It usually takes between 3-4 weeks to receive clearance. See
Family Student Handbook for details.
